Well, we have one more month under our belt...and what an eventful one it's been! Fortunately we have been free of most of the political drama over here. Despite the results of the election...I am praising God that HE is in control and His will will prevail, no matter what.

This is how excited I was for cold weather. They called me Elmo. |
Since I arrived here, I have been a part of the Protestant Women of the Chapel (PWOC), which is a ministry for Christian military women. At the end of October, I was able to go to the European annual PWOC conference in Germany. Thanks, Jordan for letting me run away for five days! The conference was absolutely amazing! There was a group of 10 of us that went, and I left with a group of new friends! The whole conference was at an amazing hotel in the hills of Germany in a little town called Willengen. It was SO refreshing to experience fall!! It's still in the 80's here in Turkey and I felt like a little girl on Christmas in the chilly weather.

These are all my new friends! This is the lobby of the hotel.

| We went out for some delicious hot chocolate to warm ourselves up. If you know me...I would much rather be drinking hot chocolate than shopping...even in Germany! |

| This is the view from the window of our hotel room. What an adorable little German town! |
We are starting to make more friends here. Friendships are bittersweet here, because everyone that we've met so far will be leaving Turkey before us. My friends here have told me that it's actually a blessing, because then you have friends all over the world! It's sad knowing that our time together is so temporary though. We made friends with a couple named Lindsay and Jordan...and they have a black lab named Mallie! It sure gets confusing when we all hang out together! We all carved pumpkins together before Halloween! Guess which ones are ours??
Jordan and I are in the process of planning a winter trip to Europe! We think that traveling together will be much more fun and memorable than exchanging gifts. Unfortunately Jordan has to work on Thanksgiving and Christmas, so we will be traveling between the two. We will be going to Switzerland, Germany and Austria. There is a huge Christmas market in Munich, so we are looking forward to that! I'm praying for snow! We leave on November 24th, so it's coming right up.

As many of you know, I have been hopelessly addicted to sleeping pills (Ambien) for 3.5 years. I have spent the last 3 months weaning off of them, and have been completely Ambien-free for about 2 weeks now! This really is a HUGE accomplishment for me. It's been a losing battle for years. I have been praying for awhile to have freedom from medication. I would appreciate any prayers in this area that you have to offer. Jordan has been so supportive and loving through everything and there is no way that I could have made it through this without his consistent encouragement and help. I sure love that guy! I have been toying with the idea of writing a book (or something) about my battle with Ambien. What do you guys think??
So I'm really going to need a bit of feedback on this blog to encourage me to keep writing! Is anybody out there reading this??? Send me some love, friends!
